Simple Science

All else equal, two coins made from two different metals will make two different sounds. When a coin or bar is held correctly and tapped, the entire object gets excited and vibrates in multiple different patterns known as vibration modes, each of these vibration modes creates a unique peak frequency and decay rate.

The StackerTools App listens for these peak frequencies (and overall decay) and notifies the User if the tested item is a pass, fail, or other.

      • 3. Proof surfaces should be avoided. No exceptions.

      • 4. Even if caps are cleaned and no contact spot is visible, contact was made and can be seen by fogging the coin.

      • 5. Dusty and oily coins will show a clean spot or smudge where contact was made. This will gently wipe away.
